Parents' Opinions on the Administration and Management of Early Childhood Education at Nawa Witthaya Kindergarten, Chanuman Subdistrict, Chanuman District, Amnat Charoen Province

Abstract

Background and Aims: Early childhood education is a fundamental foundation for the holistic development of children physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually which directly influences their future learning. Parents, as those closest to the children, play a vital role in supporting and forming perspectives on the quality of early childhood education in the present time. The objectives of this study are: (1) to examine the level of parents’ opinions toward early childhood education management at Nawawitthaya Kindergarten, Chanuman Subdistrict, Chanuman District, Amnat Charoen Province, and (2) to study the problems and suggestions related to early childhood education management at Nawawitthaya Kindergarten, Chanuman Subdistrict, Chanuman District, Amnat Charoen Province.

Methodology: This study is a quantitative research. The sample was divided into two phases. Phase 1 focused on studying parents’ opinions regarding early childhood education at Nawawitaya Kindergarten, Chanuman Subdistrict, Chanuman District, Amnat Charoen Province. The participants were 92 parents of students at Nawawitaya Kindergarten, selected through stratified random sampling using Krejcie and Morgan’s sample size table. Phase 2 examined problems and suggestions related to early childhood education at the same school. The participants included 20 parents, selected by simple random sampling from five groups, with four parents per group (parents of Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten 1, Kindergarten 2, Kindergarten 3, and parents of graduates). The data collection instruments consisted of questionnaires and interviews. The data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation.

Results: 1) The research results found that parents have opinions on the early childhood education management of Nawawittaya Kindergarten School, Chanuman Subdistrict, Chanuman District, Amnat Charoen Province, which are generally considered to be highly appropriate. When considering each aspect, It was found that all aspects were highly appropriate, with buildings, Next are personnel and management, participation, buildings, academics and activities according to the curriculum, and participation and support from the community, respectively. environment, and safety being appropriate in other aspects. 2) This includes administrators and teachers who are knowledgeable and capable of acting as good role models, taking good care of students, organizing good teaching and learning activities, and having independent and safe school buildings, as well as providing suggestions and needs in many areas.Opinions regarding the problems, suggestions and needs of parents regarding the provision of early childhood education at Nawawittaya Kindergarten School revealed that the suggestions and needs of parents were very impressive to the school. For example, it is appropriate to expand the school building/classroom and request permission to teach at the primary level. An EP classroom should be set up with foreign teachers. Technology (computer) teaching should be arranged Emphasis should be placed on training and teaching students to be respectful, to know how to apply the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, and to teach students life skills for use in their current lives Initially, the school can proceed, develop and improve according to the needs of parents, but there are some things that will take time to implement.

Conclusion: Parents expressed positive opinions toward the early childhood education management of Nawawitthaya Kindergarten, viewing the overall educational management as appropriate. They appreciated the attentiveness and exemplary conduct of teachers and administrators, as well as the usefulness and safety of learning activities for children. Additionally, parents suggested that the school further develop its facilities, enhance English and technology instruction, and continue to foster moral values and life skills among students.
