Guidelines for Developing the Implementation of the Student Care and Support System in Schools under the Nong Song Hong District, Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 3

Abstract

Methodology: This study employed a Mixed Methods Research design. The sample consisted of 250 school administrators and teachers in Nong Song Hong District under the Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, selected using simple random sampling based on the Krejcie and Morgan table. The research instruments included a five-point rating scale questionnaire, a semi-structured interview, and an assessment form for appropriateness and feasibility. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, and standard deviation.

Results: 1) he overall current condition of the implementation of the student care and support system in schools in Nong Song Hong District under the Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 3 was at a moderate level, while the desired condition was at the highest level. The priority needs for developing the implementation of the system, ranked from highest to lowest, were student referral, individual student understanding, prevention and problem solving, student screening, and student promotion. 2) The guidelines for developing the implementation of the student care and support system in schools in Nong Song Hong District under the Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 3 consisted of five aspects with a total of 15 guidelines: (1) individual student understanding (3 guidelines), (2) student screening (3 guidelines), (3) student promotion (3 guidelines), (4) prevention and problem solving (3 guidelines), and (5) student referral (3 guidelines. Overall, the guidelines were rated at the highest level of appropriateness and feasibility.

Conclusion: The implementation of the student care and support system in schools in Nong Song Hong District still has limitations compared to the desired conditions; therefore, systematic development is necessary, particularly in student referral and individual student understanding. The proposed development guidelines comprehensively cover all five aspects of the student care and support process and are appropriate and applicable within the school context.
