Guidelines for developing water tourism with community participation In the case of Huai Ra Sai Reservoir, Sawai Subdistrict, Mueang Surin District Surin Province

Abstract

Research on Guidelines for developing water tourism with community participation in the case of Huai Ra Sai Reservoir, Sawai Subdistrict, Mueang Surin District Surin Province.The objectives are to 1) Study the context and potential of water tourism management. 2) Study participation and success of entrepreneurs in organizing water tourism. 3) Find ways to develop water tourism by community participation. It is a mixed research method. in quantitative research methods.Data were collected using questionnaires with 60 entrepreneurs. For qualitative research, data were collected through interviews and small group meetings with 12 people involved in tourism management.

 The results of the research found that 1) Tourist attractions have attractions. It is convenient to travel, has facilities, and has a variety of tourist activities, but there is still  a lack of readiness in accommodation services. For evaluating the potential level of tourism management, it was found that the operators had the potential to manage tourism. Overall the waterway is at a moderate level. 2) In terms of participation in tourism management, it was found that the overall participation of entrepreneurs was at  a moderate level. As for success in tourism management It was found that tourists were satisfied and had a good experience from the tour arrangements, but there was still a problem with the consistency of the number of tourists throughout the year. 3) Guidelines for developing water tourism from those involved have 4 issues: Tourist attractions and tourist activities should be developed, Management, Travel services and Participation in order for tourism to continue to be sustainable.
