Cost and Return Analysis of Weaving Sin Teen Daeng Mudmee Silk with Ant Egg-Patterned Thread Invented of Khu Bon Community, Khu Mueang Sub - district, Khu Mueang District, Buriram Province

Abstract

This research aimed to study cost and return and to analyze the cost and return of producing Sin Teen Daeng Mudmee Silk with ant egged-patterned thread invented of Ban Khu Bon Community, Khu Mueang Subdistrict, Khu Mueang District, Buriram Province. The data were collected from 31 silk weavers. The research instruments used for data collection were questionnaire, observation, and group discussion. The results revealed that: 1) cost of producing Sin Teen Daeng Mudmee Silk with ant egged-patterned thread invented of Ban Khu Bon Community, the total cost per piece was 198.03 baht in average. The cost can be divided into: 166.97 baht for raw materials, 29.73 baht for labor cost, and 1.33 baht for pro- duction cost. Considering the total cost per year, it was found that the average total cost per year was totally 10,904.82 baht divided into: 8,012.83 baht for raw materials, 1,390.54 baht for labor cost, 61.45 baht for production cost, and 1,440 baht for operation cost. When considering the total cost of weaving Sin Teen Daeng Mudmee Silk with ant egged pattern for 100 pieces, it was found that the average total cost per piece per year was 109.04 baht including of 80.13 baht for raw materials, 13.90 baht for labor cost, 0.61 baht for production cost, and 14.40 baht for operation cost; 2) the return of producing Sin Teen Daeng Mudmee Silk with ant egged-patterned thread invented  of selling 100 pieces of silk, the findings showed that the aver-age incomeper piece per year was 201.60 baht; 3) from the cost and return analysis, it was found that Ban Khu Bon Community, Khu Mueang Subdistrict, Khu Mueang District, Buriram Province, had 338,049.17 baht of the total cost per yearand 637,980 baht of return per year; thus, the gross profit was 344,570.84 baht or 54.01%of gross profit margin. Also, the expense for operation was 44,640 baht; that is, the net profit was 299,930.83 baht or 47.01%of the net profit margin.
