Alternative Education and Community Development.

Abstract

This research article focuses on explaining the issues of alternative education and community development. To explain the community development concept of the founder of Meechai Bamboo School and the process of development with the community. This research is qualitative in nature. The researcher employs the case study approach, which involves conducting research through a variety of academic sources including books, articles, field research, various social media platforms and in-depth interviews with key informants using tools such as semi-structured interviews. The data was analyzed using data classification methods based on issues and topics. An interpretation model was used to analyze content points and capture important information. This was done to check the accuracy and consistency of the information.

The research results found that 1) Meechai Bamboo School was able to transform the school into more than just a place to teach students. Currently, Meechai Bamboo has become a training center for educating people in the community as well as a community development operations center, 2) Meechai Bamboo School's teaching and learning process, which is connected to the community and community development, focuses on 2 important aspects: (1) the foundation of thinking about community development work and (2) the students and teachers development process are encouraged to be multi-purpose developers, 3) activities done with the community use the principles of community participation in every process. Step 1 the process of getting to know the community. Step 2 is creating a participatory development plan (CNA). Step 3 the step of writing a project proposal (Proposal). Step 4 the process of evaluating the project implementation (Bamboo Ladder), and 4) community development; teaching and learning at Meechai Bamboo School are linked to community development through the Partnership School Project, which is currently operating under the project "Creating food and income security for the elderly by working with students and youth." elders and villagers who participate in this project can increase their income for themselves and their families. It can also produce safe food that families can consume to help reduce costs.
