AFFIRMATIVE ACTION IN ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVE
Abstract
Affirmative Action is a policy by the government to correct social injustice in society. In United States this policy was implemented to help African American, Hispanics, White Female and other minorities from being discriminated by the White Male. While in Malaysia, the Malaysian Government has introduced National economic Policy to correct social imbalance and to eradicate poverty among the Malaysian ethnics group especially Bumiputera. However this policy has been criticized because of reverse discrimination effect and injustice toward the rich people. This article will discuss affirmative action policy from the Islamic perspective and whether it can be implemented or not in our society.Downloads
