Development of Information Systems for Furniture Stores : Case Study of Nok Furniture Store, Sena District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province

Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) to analyze, design, and develop an information system for a furniture store; 2) to evaluate the effectiveness of the developed system; and 3) to assess user satisfaction with the system. The development process involved creating Context Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams at Level 1 and Level 2, and Entity-Relationship (E-R) Diagrams. The system was implemented using PHP with MySQL as the database management system. The developed system supports recording of product information, customer data, and order processing, while generating summary reports and issuing receipts to customers. System effectiveness was evaluated by three information system experts selected through purposive sampling, with results indicating high effectiveness. User satisfaction was assessed through convenience sampling of 30 participants, comprising the store owner and 29 customers, with results showing high satisfaction levels. The findings demonstrate that the developed system successfully achieved user objectives by addressing existing operational challenges, systematizing store operations, enhancing store visibility, and creating additional sales opportunities.
