The objectives of the study were (1) to study the extent of the organizational commitment among government officials within the civilian branch of Bureau of the Royal Household (2) to study the factors effecting the organizational commitment among government officials within the civilian branch of Bureau of the Royal Household (3) to compare the organizational commitment within the civilian branch of Bureau of the Royal Household between government officials born in Generation X and Generation Y.
The study is conducted under the principle of Mixed methods research. Initially, quantitative data were obtained from 400 samples, selected from government officials within the civilian branch of Bureau of the Royal Household. 20 from 400 samples were studied via the focus group method.
The results of the study were as follows (1) the organizational commitment among government officials within the civilian branch of Bureau of the Royal Household were at highest ( = 4.43, S.D. = 0.32) (2) the factors effecting the organizational commitment among government officials within the civilian branch of Bureau of the Royal Household include (1) management (r = 0.31) (2) interpersonal relationship between colleagues within the organization (r =0.25) (3) workplace environment ( r = 0.25) (4) rewarding system (r = 0.30) (5) nature of the work (r = 0.30) (6) external factors (r = 0.24) and (3) Generational difference has no significance in causing different level of organizational commitment (t = 0.89)
