About the Journal
Journal Description
The Thai Interdisciplinary and Sustainability Review (TISR) (e-ISSN: 2985-2684) is a premier open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing high-impact scholarly research. Co-published by the Association of Legal & Political Studies (Thailand) and White Tiger Legal, Business and Research Consultants Co., Ltd., TISR serves as a dynamic platform for researchers, academics, graduate scholars, and policymakers.
To effectively accommodate and rigorously evaluate a diverse spectrum of academic disciplines, the TISR Editorial Board operates under two specialized divisions: the Sciences & Technologies Section and the Humanities & Social Sciences Section. Operating under a transparent open peer-review process, both sections ensure the highest standards of academic rigor, integrity, and ethical publication. TISR is fundamentally committed to fostering cross-disciplinary dialogue and disseminating cutting-edge knowledge that addresses the complex challenges and transformative opportunities within the modern Thai context.
Aims
The primary aim of TISR is to serve as a leading intellectual forum that completely transcends traditional academic silos. By maintaining dedicated editorial sections for both the hard sciences and the humanities/social sciences, the journal ensures that scholars from every academic discipline have a rigorous platform to publish their work.
Our core objective is twofold:
1. Focus on the Thai Context: To cultivate a robust body of knowledge that explores, analyzes, and proposes solutions specifically relevant to Thailand. We aim to highlight domestic perspectives, evaluate the implementation of national and local public policies, facilitate comparative studies between Thai contexts and other nations, and disseminate practical knowledge that directly drives national development and community resilience.
2. Focus on Multidimensional Sustainability: To drive critical discourse surrounding sustainability and sustainable development within Thailand. The journal aims to explore the mechanisms of creating sustainability, critically analyzing both sustainable and unsustainable practices. We are dedicated to examining these phenomena across all dimensions (environmental, technological, economic, social, political, and cultural) and at all levels of human organization—ranging from the individual and family units to local communities, provincial administrations, and the national scale.
Scopes
The scope of TISR is broadly interdisciplinary, welcoming original research articles, comprehensive reviews, and theoretical papers that address the nexus of Thai studies and sustainable development. We publish scholarship that investigates the multifaceted realities of sustainability, welcoming submissions from both STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and HASS (Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences) disciplines.
While TISR highly values insightful qualitative research, the journal maintains a strong emphasis on quantitative methodologies and robust empirical evidence. We actively encourage researchers to adopt statistical models, quantitative metrics, or mixed-methods approaches. For studies exploring predominantly qualitative phenomena, authors are strongly encouraged to operationalize their findings into clear, measurable quantitative variables to ensure rigorous, highly objective, and actionable conclusions.
Based on our editorial structure and a comprehensive empirical analysis of the journal’s publication trajectory over the past three years (2023-2025), TISR particularly welcomes submissions in the following four highly published sub-fields, ranked in order of historical publication volume, representing the core pillars of our two editorial sections:
1. Public Administration, Local Governance, and Public Policy (Humanities & Social Sciences Section): Research focusing on public service delivery, the roles and innovations of Local Administrative Organizations (LAOs), policy implementation, legal frameworks, and political development within Thailand.
2. Educational Administration, Learning Innovations, and Human Development (Humanities & Social Sciences Section): Studies encompassing school management, educational leadership, instructional innovations, curriculum development, and human capital development tailored to Thai society.
3. Business Management, Economics, and Sustainable Tourism (Humanities & Social Sciences Section): Investigations into organizational behavior, SME and community enterprise development, strategic marketing, local economic resilience, and sustainable community-based tourism practices in Thailand.
4. Health Sciences, Public Health, and Applied Community Technologies (Sciences & Technologies Section): Interdisciplinary approaches to health promotion, nursing care quality, community health management, preparations for Thailand's aging society, and the application of practical technologies (e.g., smart agriculture, environmental engineering) for local sustainability.
...and other related fields that contribute to the theoretical and practical advancement of sustainability and interdisciplinary knowledge within the context of Thailand.

Article Types
Thai Interdisciplinary and Sustainability Review (TISR) welcomes submissions in two primary article categories:
• Research Articles: Empirical, original research that makes a significant scholarly contribution to the study of sustainability and sustainable development from an interdisciplinary perspective. Manuscripts should clearly state the research questions, describe the methodology in sufficient detail for evaluation and replication, present rigorous analysis and results, and offer well-founded academic conclusions and recommendations.
• Review Articles: Scholarly syntheses of existing literature that provide a comprehensive and critical overview of the current state of knowledge on topics related to sustainability and sustainable development. Review articles should systematically analyze and integrate relevant sources, identify research gaps, and offer insightful perspectives on key issues and emerging trends, with an emphasis on contributions to interdisciplinary understanding.
Publication Frequency and Volume Policy
Thai Interdisciplinary and Sustainability Review (TISR) is published bi-annually, with two issues per year:
• No. 1: January - June
• No. 2: July - December
Editorial Rigor and Volume Management: TISR is deeply committed to upholding the highest global academic standards. To achieve this, the journal employs a comprehensive and rigorous editorial screening and peer-review process. The publication volume for each issue is deliberately and carefully managed by the editorial board to ensure that every published article undergoes meticulous evaluation. Our primary focus remains on scholarly excellence, methodological integrity, and meaningful contributions to the academic community, rather than on publication quantity. As the journal continues to attract growing interest from researchers, the editorial board is dedicated to sustainably expanding our publication capacity to effectively cover the breadth of our interdisciplinary scope without compromising our rigorous quality controls.
Issue Composition and Continuous Publication: To facilitate the rapid dissemination of knowledge, articles accepted within each period are scheduled for immediate online publication upon the completion of the final production and copy-editing stages. The editorial team meticulously determines the final total number of articles and the composition of each issue to maintain a balanced, diverse, and cohesive academic dialogue. To ensure a consistent volume and optimal thematic fit, this management may involve incorporating accepted articles received near the end of the timeframe, or thoughtfully shifting certain accepted manuscripts to the subsequent issue.
Peer Review Process
Thai Interdisciplinary and Sustainability Review (TISR) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic rigor through a transparent, open peer-review process. All submitted manuscripts undergo review by at least two suitably qualified experts in the relevant field. The review process is open, fostering constructive dialogue between authors and reviewers.
To ensure efficiency and integrity, authors must submit a "Self-Certification Form" during the revision stage, confirming adherence to formatting and ethical standards, including the non-use of Generative AI. Final publication decisions are made by the editors based on the reviews and the author's certification. Please note that all accepted manuscripts are subject to a strict 30-day post-acceptance verification period, during which the acceptance may be revoked if any non-compliance is detected.
