การพัฒนาหนังสือภาพ เรื่อง Basic Navy Terminology เพื่อเสริมสร้างความสามารถในการเรียนรู้คำศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษทางทหารเรือสำหรับนักเรียนนายเรือ

Abstract

The objectives of the research were 1) to study the needs of English vocabulary topics on Navy terminology, 2) to investigate the efficiency of the picture book entitled “Basic Navy Terminology” on a basis of 80/80 criteria, and 3) to compare English vocabulary achievements between before and after studying through the picture book. The sample group included 88 second-year cadets studying English for Communication 2 during the final semester in academic year 2021. The research instruments were 1) a questionnaire of needs of English vocabulary topics on Navy terminology, 2) the picture book entitled “Basic Navy Terminology”, and 3) an English vocabulary achievement test. Data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation, 80/80 efficiency indices and a t-test. The results showed that 1) naval cadets’ most needed topic is “Weapons and Equipment for Officers in the Navy”, 2) efficiency of the picture book was 81.44/83.62, and 3) English vocabulary achievement after studying through the picture book was higher than that before studying at 0.05 statistical significance.
