Effectiveness of Health Information by Demonstration of Student Nurses

Abstract

The aims of this quasi-experimental study were to determine the effectiveness of health information by demonstration of student nurses. Samples were third year nursing students who were have nursing practicum at Antenatal Clinic at one Secondary care level hospital. For prevent contamination, data were collected from control group who have to give health information to pregnant women using usual ways. Research instrument was program of health information for pregnant women entitles nutrition during pregnancy. Data were collected via health information plan scale and health information competency scale. Independent t-test were used to test the difference on mean scores.

The findings were as followed. All samples were female, age between 20-21 years olds, and passed the nursing care for pregnant women. Mean scores on health information plan in experimental group were statistically higher than control group at p<.05 (M=83.46, SD=2.58; M=81.03, SD=1.33; respectively). Mean scores on health information competency on experimental were not statistically significant higher than control group (M=89.37, SD=4.17; M=83.75, SD=9.16; respectively).

                The suggestions from this study are that nursing students should have more time to practice until they have confidentiality enough before demonstration. Furthermore, further study should be conduct for determine the use of knowledge in health practice among pregnant women. culture for tourism.
