LEARNING ECOSYSTEM FOR TRANSFORMATION: GUIDELINES FOR ENHANCING FARMERS' CAPACITY TOWARD SUSTAINABLE GAP VEGETABLE PRODUCTION

Abstract

This research addresses the urgent sustainable development agenda by enhancing farmers' capacity to overcome chemical dependency. The study aims to develop comprehensive learning management guidelines for promoting GAP-standard safe vegetable production in Nakhon Pathom Province. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research assessed the priority needs (PNI_modified) of 106 farmers and synthesized a framework validated by expert focus groups. The findings culminated in a "Learning Ecosystem for Transformation," comprising three core components: 1) Knowledge Preparation, offering four tailored curriculums ranging from "Awareness for Change" to "Sustaining Standards" based on learner readiness segments; 2) Learning Management, uniquely integrating non-formal education (credit bank systems) and informal education (micro-learning stations and mentoring), specifically aligned with andragogical principles for aging farmers; and 3) Evaluation, utilizing a reflective feedback loop covering both process and outcomes. These guidelines serve as a strategic model for government and local agencies to effectively transform traditional farming behaviors toward sustainable food safety and environmental stewardship in the digital age.
