Abstract

This study examines the supply chain and logistics activities of coastal small-scale fisheries in the Pak Phanang River Basin, along with factors influencing seafood distribution demand. A mixed-methods approach involved interviewing 116 fishers from 4 groups to analyze planning, procurement, production, distribution, and reverse logistics. Results show that the logistics system is structured and operates efficiently under relevant socioeconomic factors. Age, income, and fishing practices influence the logistics system, while gender and education have no clear effect. Reverse logistics plays a key role in waste reduction and resource efficiency by repurposing fish waste into animal feed/organic fertilizer and reusing deteriorated fishing gear. Appropriate logistics strategies can enhance the sustainability of small-scale fisheries in the Pak Phanang River Basin.
