SUSTAINABLE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT APPROACHES FOLLOWING THE ROYAL TRAIL OF KING MONGKUT IN PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN PROVINCE

This article presents the results of a qualitative study to develop models and approaches for promoting tourism following the royal trail of King Mongkut in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. It emphasizes the integration of historical, cultural, and natural tourist attractions. SWOT and TOWS Matrix analyses aid in formulating appropriate development strategies. The KM-SD (King Mongkut Sustainable Development Model) was developed from the application of the BCG Model, HPSKMTBB Inclusive Model, and LAMIC Model in conjunction with the OTOP Nawatwithi and Bawon concepts. The study highlights the potential of tourist attractions to generate income for communities and promote cultural heritage conservation. Development strategies emphasize community participation, sustainable resource use, and creating valuable experiences for tourists. This study is useful for planning sustainable tourism development in areas of historical and cultural significance.
