CURRENT CAUSES AND LEGAL MEASURES FOR REGULATING ONLINE GAMBLING

Abstract

The purpose of this research article is to present the causes, problems and legal measures in controlling online gambling at present. By studying the laws related to gambling as follows: Gambling Act 1297; Computer-related Offenses Act (No.2). The study found that Thailand is currently experiencing a huge social gambling problem of more than 30 million out of the total population, which is an increasing number. There are three main reasons. First, the economic conditions that have resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic, the government's administration, and secondly, the problem of gambling addiction, and thirdly, the lack of compliance. The government should be aware of these issues. Researchers have studied the effects of these three factors linked to other crimes, and have to take appropriate measures to address them in a concrete manner to bring offenders to justice and reduce online gambling. The government should provide laws or measures that can be controlled and next to the world's change by using them as a tool to solve the problem.
