THE AWARENESS TOWARDS INFORMATION SECURITY OF THE GOVERNMENT PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT OFFICERS

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the level of awareness towards the information security of officers in the Government Public Relations Department, 2) to compare the awareness towards information security of the Government Public Relations Department Officers with Officers Factors, 3) to study the relationship between the information security communication channel and the Awareness towards Information Security, and 4) to study the relationship between the knowledge of the information threats and the Awareness towards Information Security of the. The sample in the research was 305 officers Statistics used were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test One-Way ANOVA LSD Chi-Square Cramer's V and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Statistical significance was set at the .05 level. The results of this study found that the level of awareness towards information security of the Government Public Relations Department officers was high. The hypothesis testing reviewed that the difference in sex, age, education, and agency had difference in the awareness towards information security. The information security communication channel had not related to the level of awareness towards information security of the Government Public Relations Department officers. Additionally, knowledge and understanding of the information threats had a medium positive relationship with the awareness towards information security of the Government Public Relations Department officers.
