CONSTRUCTION OF REPRESENTATION OF NOBLE MONK: A CASE OF STUDY OF BIOGRAPHICAL LITERATURE OF LUANG POR KOON PARISUTTHO

Abstract

This article is of an objective to study the concept of construction of representation of Thai noble monks: A case study of Biographical Literature of Luang Por Koon Parisuttho, written by Phaitoon Thanya; a literature writer awarded S.E.A. Write in 1987. The study results that Phaitoon Thanya uses literary phrases to convey the truth that an ordinary monk could develop himself until being regarded as one of noble monks who is as good as god and also presents the construction of meaning of the world, where people could approach the ordinary noble monk, who seems being an avatar of the present noble monks, who was persevered in accordance with concept of the Great Man and Buddha Dharma, which helped an ordinary monk to access to peace and became a model of the world's merit and shined light of great mercy to help people out of suffering, like the god of Dan Khun Thot, Luang Por Koon Parisuttho.
