People’s Opinion on the Draft of the Reproductive Hygiene Promotion Act

This descriptive research aims to study knowledge and people’s opinions on the Draft of the Reproductive Hygiene Promotion Act, personal factors that are associated with the knowledge of public on the Draft of the Reproductive Hygiene Promotion Act and personal factors that are associated with Draft of the Reproductive Hygiene Promotion Act. The samples used in this research were 400 laborers whose age 15 years old or more in Bangkok area. The tools used in this research were questionnaire developed by the researcher. The obtained data was analyzed by using an instant computer program. The used statistics were Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, Minimum, Maximum and Chi-Square. The research results indicated that the samples had the knowledge about the Draft of the Reproductive Hygiene Promotion Act in high level. The public comments on the Draft of the Reproductive Hygiene Promotion Act in overall image were in high level of agreement. For the analysis results of association between personal factors and the knowledge, it could be found out that the knowledge had no association with the Draft of the Reproductive Hygiene Promotion Act. There were agreements on some parts of the assumption with statistical significance at the level of 0.05. In addition, association between personal factors and the opinions on the Draft of the Reproductive Hygiene Promotion Act could be found out that personal factors, namely gender, age, marital status, educational level, occupation, residence characteristics and relationships with the opposite sex in term of talking or having conversations, open relationship, in an relationship or friendship had positive effects on the Draft of the Reproductive Hygiene Promotion Act with statistical significance at the level of 0.05. For average monthly income, relationships in term of opposite sex, employer or employee and other statuses, such as customer, merchant had no association with the comments on the Draft of the Reproductive Hygiene Promotion Act. There were agreements on some parts of the assumption with statistical significance at the level of 0.05.
