Relationships between Job Satisfaction with Personality and Motivation of Employees in the Banking Industry

Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1.) to study personality (The Big Five), quality of motivation and job satisfaction. 2.) to study the relationship between job satisfaction and motivation, and personality of the banking employees. The sample consisted of 400 employees in the Banking Industry. This research used questionnaires as a research instruments. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The result of this study indicated that 1.) Agreeableness is positively related to overall job satisfaction at 0.05 level of significance. 2.) Intrinsic motivation the need to challenge is positively related to overall job satisfaction. Extrinsic motivation the supervisor is positively related to overall job satisfaction. Statistically significant at the .05 level. 3.) Agreeableness, intrinsic motivation the need to challenge and extrinsic motivation the supervisor are able to predict overall job satisfaction at 18.4 percent.
