A Risk Management Model of Rajabhat Universities in Thailand

The objectives of this research was to study 1) success factors in the risk management and the operation of risk management of Rajabhat universities in Thailand, 2) the relation between success factors in the risk management and the operation of risk management of Rajabhat universities in Thailand, 3) success factors that influenced the risk management of Rajabhat Universities in Thailand and 4) present the risk management model for Rajabhat universities in Thailand. This is a mixed methodology approach designed to mainly use a quantitative research method by sending questionnaires to 282 persons. The research was conducted using a qualitative research method to support the data by in-depth interviewing with the presidents and ten people who were experts in risk management. The data were statistically analyzed in terms of percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results of this research found that: 1. Overall, success factors in the risk management and the operation of risk management of Rajabhat universities in Thailand were rated at a high level of rating scores in the questionnaire. Considering the factors and the operation individually, each of them was also rated at a high level. 2. The relation between the success factors and the operation was positive at a median level between .407-585 at a significance level of .01 3. Overall, it was found out that there were four success factors that influenced the risk management of Rajabhat universities in Thailand at a significance level of .01. These success factors were the policy and strategy in risk management factor (X1), the organizational culture factor (X4), the leadership factor (X3) and the information system and communication factor (X8) The regression equation was that: Ytot = 1.234 + 0.304(X1) + 0.175(X4) + 0.134(X3) + 0.089(X8) 4. The risk management model of Rajabhat universities in Thailand was comprised of four success factors which were the factor of policy and strategy in risk management, the factor of organizational culture, the factor of leadership and the factor of information system and communication.
