People’s Participation in the Community without Bins Project of Khaosamyod Town Municipality, Muang, Lopburi

Abstract

The objectives of the research were 1) to study people’s participation in the Community without Bins Project of Khaosamyod Town Municipality, Muang District, Lopburi, 2) to study the result of People’s participation and their satisfaction in Community without Bins Project, 3) to study the factors relating with people’s participation in the project, and 4) to study the relationship between such factors and people’s participation as well as satisfaction. The sample group comprised of 354 persons. Questionnaires were used in data collection and analysed by a statistical software. Statistical tools used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, stepwise multiple regression, and Pearson’s product-moment correlation coefficient at the .05 level of significance. The results of the research showed that 1) people’s participation in Community without Bins Project of Khaosamyod Town Municipality was at high level, 2) the project’s result and people’s satisfaction towards it were at high levels, 3) factors concerning people’s sex, age, length of residence, expectations for the project, knowledge on the project, and community positions all had a relationship with people’s participation in the project at the statistical significance of .05 and 4) people’s participation was in relation to the project’s result and people’s satisfaction towards the project at the statistical significance of .05.
