An Efficiency Model for Electronic Payment System Management in Thailand
Keywords:
Efficiency, Electronic Payment SystemAbstract
The study of “Efficiency Model for Electronic Payment System Management in Thailand” aimed to (1) explore the factors affecting the efficiency of management of electronic payment system in Thailand, (2) study such processes having impacts on the management of electronic payment system in Thailand, (3) propose a model of Efficiency for Electronic Payment System Management in Thailand, and (4) suggest guidelines for electronic payment system development in accordance with the Bank of Thailand (BOT) policy on financial management. In regard to research methodology, mixed method of quantitative and qualitative research was employed. Research population and sample groups consisted of 6 groups of entrepreneurs, including finance, public transportation, retailers, insurance/life insurance, government entities, and media, as well as relevant BOT staff members and academia. Statistics used for data analysis included percentage, frequency distribution, mean and standard deviation. Statistics for hypothesis testing were obtained from Correlation, Multiple Regression analysis as a mathematical model established to precisely predict the influence of variables and in consistence with concepts, theories and related research. With respect to the research results, the study found that all independent variables had a relationship to the efficiency of electronic payment system management of 84.60 percent, and was able to predict the efficiency of electronic payment system management of 79.90 percent. As for the regression coefficient, the results were as follows: beta of information technology (0.365), management (0.223), knowledge management (0.181), leadership (0.154), transparency (0.094), risk management (0.073), and accountability (0.062). The analysis resulted in a multiple regression model to forecast the efficiency of electronic payment system management as follow: E = 0.198 + 0.365 IT + 0.223 M + 0.181 K + 0.154 L + 0.094 T + 0.073 R + 0.062 A All parties involved can apply the model to the context of their organization in order to develop sustainable electronic payment system.
