Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to study the administration of academic affair and curriculum activities in child development centers of Subdistrict Administrative Organizations in Surin in 5 aspects, namely curriculum,learning experience and routine activity setting, learning experience plan writing, media and innovation learning experience setting, and measurement and evaluation. 2) to compare the administration of academic affairs and curriculum activities of those aspects, as classified by positions, age, and experiences; and 3) to gather related problems and suggestions. The samples were 224 academic educators and heads of child development centers of Subdistrict Administrative Organizations in Surin, derived through Krejcie and Morgan’s Table and simple random sampling. The instrument used in collecting the data was the 5-rating scale questionnaire, constructed by the researcher with the reliability of 0.92. The statistics used for analyzing the data were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test and Scheffe method. The main research findings were summarized as follows: 1) The administration of academic affairs and curriculum activities as perceived by the academic educators and heads of child development centers as a whole and in almost all aspects was at the moderate level, except in the learning experience plan writing, and media and innovation leaning experience setting was found at the high level. 2) The administration of academic affairs and curriculum activities as perceived by the academic educators and heads of child development centers with different positions as a whole and in almost all aspects was not different, except in the curriculum aspects was found with statistically significant difference at the 0.5 level. 3) The administration of academic affairs and curriculum activities as perceived by the academic educators and heads of child development centers with different age as a whole and in all aspects was not different. 4) The administration of academic affairs and curriculum activities as perceived by the academic educators and heads of child development centers with different experience as a whole was not different. However, the curriculum, learning experience plan writing, and media and innovation leaning experience setting were found with statistically significant different at the 0.5 level. 5) The administration of academic affair and curriculum activities in child development centers in Surin had main problems on the child development centers lacking community cooperation and the building facility unsuitable for setting learning activities, and there were suggestions that classrooms and building facility should be suitable for setting learning activities, and meetings for consulting to find out ways to set up the clear policies on measurement and evaluation.
