Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the organizational conflicts related to culture of military organization. Its typical characteristics make military organization differs from private sectors or civil ministries and departments. The conflicts in the organization sometime can maintain the existence of those military organizations and promote their organizational development. This research aimed to determine the causes, levels, and relationship of the organizational culture and organizational conflict. The quantitative research method was used. Samples of this study were commissioned and non-commissioned officers working at the Royal Thai Air Force Security Forces Command Three hundred and sixty completed questionnaires were collected from August to September 2012. Statistical analysis used in this research included frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson's Correlation. The research results showed that there was a high correlation between organizational culture (Aggressive/Defensive cultural styles) and the conflicts in the organization, the Royal Thai Air Force Security Forces Command. This is due to the fact that military system is autocratic and emphasizes the authorization and command. On the other hand, there is a low correlation between the Constructive Cultural styles and the conflicts in the organization because of the precise rules and regulations; the organizational value aimed at mission accomplishment; failure avoidance; organizational harmony, unity, and seniority; and obedience to commands.
