Preliminary Study: Effect of Art Group Therapy Program on Anxiety among Drug Addict Patients with Psychiatric Symptoms from Drug Use at Thanyarak Pattani Hospital

Abstract
Objectives: Research on this study aimed to pilot the effect of art therapy on anxiety among drug
addicts with psychiatric symptoms from drug use, a case study of Thanyarak Pattani Hospital. Materials and methods: Quasi-experiment research had 12 persons of sample group who were specifically selected from drug-addicted patients with psychotic symptoms and they have been diagnosed with Medication-Induced Mental Disorder criteria based on the DSM-5,they were treated with rehabilitation phase, they had moderate anxiety were treated with an art therapy program 1 time per week for 8 weeks and measured anxiety levels 2 times including pretest and posttest of art group therapy session. Research tools included general information and drugs use interview form, an anxiety assessment form, a latent anxiety assessment form, an in-depth interview form, and art group therapy program for psychiatric patients from drug use. Results: After sample group participated art therapy program that could reduce state anxiety with statistical significance at the p-value < 0.05 and after sample group participated art therapy program that could reduce trait anxiety with statistical significance at the p-value < 0.05.
Conclusion: Art therapy group program reduce State-Anxiety and Trait-Anxiety for substance induced psychosis in Thanyarak Pattani Hospital.
