บทคัดย่อ
บทความวิจัยนี้เป็นการศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์ความสัมพันธ์ของอาณาจักรล้านช้างกับอาณาจักรไดเวียดจากช่วงกลางคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 14 จนถึงต้นคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 15 ค.ศ.1353-1713 หรือตั้งแต่การก่อตั้ง อาณาจักรล้านช้างใน ค.ศ. 1353 ถึงช่วงเวลาที่อาณาจักรล้านช้างแตกแยกออกเป็น 3 อาณาจักรใน ค.ศ.1713 โดยการศึกษาและวิเคราะห์ เอกสารพื้นเมือง ร่วมสมัยกับหลักฐานชั้นรองที่เกี่ยวข้องต่าง ๆ ของลาวและเวียดนาม การศึกษาพบว่าในช่วงเวลาสี่ศตวรรษดังกล่าว อาณาจักรล้านช้างและไดเวียด มีความสัมพันธ์ในลักษณะการเป็น คู่ขัดแย้งและการเป็นพันธมิตรทางการเมืองและเศรษฐกิจ อย่างไรก็ตาม หลังการปฏิวัติสังคมนิยมลาวใน ค.ศ.1975 ประวัติศาสตร์นิพนธ์ร่วมสมัยของทางการลาวได้เน้นไปที่ความสัมพันธ์เชิงมิตรภาพและความร่วมมือมากกว่าการนำเสนอประวัติศาสตร์ของความขัดแย้งต่อกัน ซึ่งเป็นการสนองตอบ ต่อแนวทางความสัมพันธ์รอบด้านของรัฐบาลลาว
