Effects of Locus of Control on State Anxiety during COVID-19 Time: Mediating Roles of Resilience and Trait Anxiety

Abstract

Objective: To study the effects of locus of control on state anxiety during COVID-19 time by mediating roles of resilience and trait anxiety.


Materials and methods: The sample size of 260 participants consists of individuals aged 18 -25, using an online questionnaire developed, which includes: 1) demographic characteristics questionnaire 2) locus of control questionnaire 3) state anxiety questionnaire 4) trait anxiety questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis include frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and path analysis.


Results: Resilience and traits anxiety are mediator variables between locus of control and state anxiety.  


Conclusion:  The locus of control and state anxiety during COVID-19 are related to resilience and traits anxiety. These are importance internal factors that should be positively developed to buffer the unexpected life situations.
