RISK FACTORS OF LAND EXCAVATION AND FILL BUSINESSES IN THE PERSPECTIVES OF ENTREPRENEURS

The objective of this research was to investigate the risk factors impacting business performances. The research method was collected from 15 samples of entrepreneurs in the land excavation and fill businesses in Suphan Buri Province. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) was applied as the research tool to prioritize the risk factors.
The research in the perspectives of entrepreneurs found that financial risk had the most influence on business performances with a weight of 0.3513, followed by external and social responsibility risk with a weight of 0.2888, operational risk with a weight of 0.2545, and finally strategic risk with a weight of 0.1055. The sub-factors that most affected each main factor included: 1) Competitive pressure risk had the greatest effect on strategic risk, 2) Production cost risk had the greatest effect on financial risk, 3) Legal risk had the greatest effect on operational risk, and 4) Natural and external hazard risk had the greatest effect on external and social responsibility risk. The result indicated that risk identification was essential. The focus should be on managing working capital to ensure liquidity, ensuring good governance and supervision, preparing for potential disaster and insecurity, and developing business plans that could be effectively implemented.
