A Way of Life Based on the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy for Students of Mahamakut Buddhist University, Roi Et Campus

Abstract

The research article included the following objectives: 1) to investigate the current and desirable conditions, as well as needs for a way of life based on the philosophy of sufficiency economy for students of Mahamakut Buddhist University, Roi Et Campus; and 2) to explore suggestions for a way of life based on the philosophy of sufficiency economy for students of Mahamakut Buddhist University, Roi Et Campus. The sample group included 198 students of Mahamakut Buddhist University, Roi Et Campus. The sample sized was determined by Krejcie & Morgan table. The tool used for the study was a questionnaire with 5-point Likert scale. The study employed a quantitative research method. The statistics for content analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, priority needs index modified (PNI Modified), and content analysis.


From the study, the following results are found: 1) Current conditions are at a high level, with building good immunity for oneself being the highest mean, followed by moderation, rationality, and ethical qualifications, with knowledge qualifications having the lowest mean. The desirable conditions are at a high level, with building good immunity for oneself being the highest mean, followed by moderation, knowledge qualifications, and ethical qualifications, with rationality having the lowest mean. The needs for a way of life based on the philosophy of sufficiency economy for students of Mahamakut Buddhist University, Roi Et Campus include (1) moderation, (2) building good immunity for oneself, (3) knowledge qualifications, (4) ethical qualifications, and (5) rationality; and 2) The suggestions for a way of life based on the philosophy of sufficiency economy show that students should spend their money economically and in proportion to their income, not spend extravagantly or trouble oneself and others, and that they should carefully plan and consider the need for expenditure.
