The Administration Model of Guidance in Education Institutes under the Office of Vocational Education Commission

Abstract

The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to investigate the components and guidance administration in educational institutions under the office of vocational education commission; 2) to create and examine the propriety of the guidance administration in educational institutions under the office of vocational education commission; and 3) to assess the administrative model of guidance in educational institutions under the office of vocational education commission. The study was divided into three phases: 1) Investigating components and guidelines for guidance administration in educational institutions under the office of the vocational education commission, using documents and related research, as well as interviews with five experts and three educational institutions with best practices; 2) Constructing and examining the administrative model of guidance at educational institutions under the office of the vocational education commission, utilizing information from the first phase to draft the model and examine its propriety through focus group discussion with nine experts; and 3) Assessing the feasibility and utility of the administrative model of guidance in educational institutions under the office of the vocational education commission with directors, deputy directors of student affairs, students, and the head of career guidance and job placement in educational institutions in the central region, for a total of 144 persons. 


From the study, the following results were found: 1) The components of guidance in educational institutions under the office of vocational education commission consist of principles and objectives of guidance, scope of guidance service, personnel in the operation of guidance, operation process of guidance work, and outcome of guidance work; 2) The administrative model of guidance at educational institutions under the office of the vocational education commission consists of five components, which are (1) principles and objectives of guidance in educational institutions, (2) scope of guidance work in educational institutions, (3) personnel in the administration of guidance in educational institutions, (4) operation process of guidance work in educational institutions, and (5) outcome of guidance work in educational institutions; and 3) From assessing the administrative model of guidance in educational institutions under the office of vocational education commission, the experts found that the model was of propriety, feasibility, and utility at the highest level.
