Model for Developing Entrepreneurial Competency of Students in Educational Institutions under Office of the Vocational Education Commission

Abstract

The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to investigate the development processes and methods, as well as entrepreneurial competency of students in educational institutions under office of the vocational education commission; 2) to create a model for developing entrepreneurial competency of students in educational institutions under office of the vocational education commission; and 3) to assess a model for developing entrepreneurial competency of students in educational institutions under office of the vocational education commission. The study was divided into three phases: 1) An examination of development processes and methods, as well as entrepreneurial competency among students in educational institutions. This phase was carried out by interviewing six experts and three educational institutions with best practices; 2) The design of a model for developing entrepreneurial competency of students in educational institutions, which was reviewed for its propriety by 9 experts using an interview form; and 3) A model for developing entrepreneurial competency of students in educational institutions was assessed for its feasibility and utility using questionnaires distributed to directors, deputy directors, and advisors to the vocational entrepreneurial incubator center, a total of 108 people. Data was collected using a questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale to assess the feasibility and utility of a model for developing entrepreneurial competency in students at educational institutions.


From the study, the following results were found: 1) There are four processes of developing the entrepreneurial competency of students at educational institutions under the office of the vocational education commission, which are (1) Investigating the need for competence development, (2) Planning and designing the development of students' entrepreneurial competencies, (3) Operating the development of students' entrepreneurial competencies, and (4) Assessing the development outcomes of students' entrepreneurial competencies. There are three development methods: (1) Arranging simulation scenarios,       (2) Training, and (3) Field trips. There are three components to entrepreneurial competency: (1) Knowledge, (2) Skills, and (3) Qualities; 2) A model for developing entrepreneurial competency of students in educational institutions under office of the vocational education commission consists of four components, which are (1) Development operators, (2) Processes of developing the entrepreneurial competency of students, (3) Methods of developing the entrepreneurial competency of students, and (4) Entrepreneurial competency of students; and 3) The assessment of a model yielded high-level feasibility and utility results.
