The Development Process of a Subconscious Trainer by Buddhist Peaceful Means

Abstract

The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to explore and analyze problems, needs, and concepts related to the development process of subconscious trainers based on modern science; 2) to analyze the Buddhist peaceful means favorable to the development process of subconscious trainers; and 3) to develop and present the development process of subconscious trainers by Buddhist peaceful means. The study employed a research and development method based on Ariyasacca (the four noble truths) model under the 9-step framework. Key informants comprised 22 people who volunteered to participate in the development process and met the requirements. 25 people were used as key informants in the interviews, and 20 experts participated in a focus group discussion to verify the development process. The obtained data were analyzed in a descriptive method. 


From the study, the following results are found: 1) Problems of subconscious trainers reveal that trainers lack knowledge, characteristics, skills, subconsciousness, and integration. As a result, it is necessary to develop subconscious trainers based on Buddhist peaceful means, as problems require change in the society, as well as policies aimed at sustainability. This is also based on principles such as the development of trainers, facilitators, communication, psychology, coaching, peaceful means, and subconsciousness; 2) The Buddhist peaceful means favorable to the development of subconscious trainers include the following: inner peace; Satipaṭṭhāna (the four foundations of mindfulness), including the contemplation of body, feelings, mind, and mind-objects; friendly manner; Bhāvanā (the four developments), including physical, behavioral, moral, emotional, and intellectual developments; and 3) The development process of subconscious trainers by Buddhist peaceful means intends to develop the following six aspects comprising model trainer, subconsciousness, powerful communication, inner peace, Buddhist peaceful means, and happiness and success. From the study, the ‘MACSUK’ Model, which includes: (1) Mindfulness as a foundation, (2) Attitude of being a subconscious trainer, (3) powerful Communication about subconsciousness, (4) coaching Skills, (5) Understanding about subconsciousness, and (6) Knowledge about a subconscious trainer. Subconscious trainers based on Buddhist peaceful means must "know oneself, see oneself, calm oneself, one’s own mind."
