The Development of Learning Management System for Self Training Model for Teachers to Write Course Syllabus to Improve the Quality of Vocational Education Curriculum

Abstract
The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to investigate problems and need for the development of a training model for teachers to write course syllabus based on a self-learning management system to improve the quality of vocational education curriculum; and 2) to develop and evaluate the propriety of a training model for teachers to write course syllabus based on a self-learning management system to improve the quality of vocational education curriculum. An experimental research approach was used in the study. A group sample was selected using cluster sampling, which included teachers and administrators from vocational educational institutions. The tool used was a questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Priority Needs Index Modified (PNIModified).
The results of the study are found as follows:
1) After analyzing the problems of writing course syllabus and the need for training teachers to write course syllabus based on a self-learning management system to improve the quality of vocational education curriculum, it was found that the overall problem conditions are at a moderate level. The required knowledge and skills are overall at the highest level. The need to develop a training model for teachers to write course syllabus based on a self-learning management system to improve the quality of vocational education curriculum comprise: (1) identifying course codes; (2) identifying course names; (3) identifying credits; (4) writing course objectives; (5) writing course competencies; and (6) writing course descriptions. This will help provide information for curriculum development.
2) The development of a training model for teachers to write course syllabus based on a self-learning management system to improve the quality of vocational education curriculum includes the following steps: (1) analysis of need; (2) identification of training objectives; (3) selection and design of the learning management system training; (4) the training of the learning management system; (5) evaluation criteria; (6) evaluation; and (7) the accuracy of the training results. The self-learning management system is at the highest level.
