A Factor Analysis for Educational Leadership Characteristics of the Administrators of the Islamic Ethics Training Center for Mosque in Thailand

Abstract

The objectives of the research article were as follows: 1) investigate components and indicators of educational leadership characteristics of administrators of the Islamic Ethics Training Center for mosques in Thailand; and 2) examine the concurrent validity of indicators of educational leadership characteristics of administrators of the Islamic Ethics Training Center for mosques in Thailand. Mixed-methods research was used in the study. The sample group for the study consisted of 695 teachers from Thailand's Islamic Ethics Training Center for mosques, who were chosen by stratified sampling. A questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale was utilized as the instrument. The collected data were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis. The concurrent validity was assessed on a known group of 30 people using the t-test, in which the mean level of the  obtained indicators was compared with the assessment criteria at a high level (µ ³ 3.50). The package program was used for data analysis.


The results of the study are as follows: 1) There are 8 components and 78 indicators of educational leadership characteristics of administrators of the Islamic Ethics Training Center for mosques in Thailand. All these components can explain the variance of all indicators with a factor of 63.588. Components 1 to 8 have eigenvalues ranging from 20.503 to 1.965 and can be arranged in the following order: management ability aimed at achievement, ethics according to Islamic religious laws, leadership, outer and inner personality, maturity and religious identity, human relations, and work dedication; and 2) The known group asserted that all 79 discovered indicators of the educational leadership characteristics of administrators of the Islamic Ethics Training Center for mosques in Thailand have concurrent validity with a statistical significance of .001.
