Guidelines for Developing Supervision in Schools on Highland Areas

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to 1) study the condition of supervision in schools on highland areas and 2) study the guidelines for supervision in schools on highland areas that promote the efficiency of learning management of teachers. The research procedure was divided into two steps. 1) The condition of supervision in schools on highland areas was studied. The informants were 10 school administrators from 10 schools. They were chosen by purposive sampling. The research instrument was an interview form regarding the condition of supervision in schools on highland areas. The data were then analyzed using content analysis. 2) The guidelines for supervision in schools on highland areas were studied. The research procedure was divided into two steps. 2.1) The guidelines for supervision in schools on highland areas were studied by interviewing five experts who were chosen by purposive sampling. The research instrument was an interview form regarding the guidelines for developing the supervision in schools on highland areas. The obtained data were then analyzed using content analysis. 2.2) The guidelines for supervision in schools on highland areas were studied from three schools with best practice which were chosen by using purposive sampling. The research instrument was an interview form regarding the guidelines for developing supervision in schools on highland areas. The data were then analyzed using content analysis.


It was revealed that 1) the condition of supervision in schools on highland areas consisted of six elements: 1) supervision goals, 2) planning, 3) implement of supervision, 4) evaluation and report of supervision results, 5) success factors, and 6) teachers' learning management efficiency. Moreover, 2) the guidelines for supervision in schools on highland areas that promote the efficiency of learning management of teachers from the interviews of the experts and the administrators of the schools with best practice in terms of school supervision included six elements: 1) supervision goals, 2) planning, 3) implement of supervision, 4) evaluation and report of supervision results, 5) success factors, and 6) teachers' learning management efficiency.
