The Scenario of Monks Teaching Morality to Raise the Level of Teaching Buddhism in New Normal Society

Abstract
The research purpose was to investigate the scenario of moral teaching monks to raise the level of teaching of Buddhism subject in the new normal society. The research methodology was qualitative research. The research instruments were documentary study form, interview form, and a focus group discussion form. The key informants were teachers, school administrators, educational supervisors, teaching morality monks, officers and executives of the Office of the Moral Teaching Monks totally as 96 people. The research analysis was inductive analysis. The research results were:
To raise the level of teaching of Buddhism subject in the new normal society, moral teaching monks should be adapted to keep up with the context of the learners. The moral teaching monks had to gain knowledge about the basic education core curriculum and precise the content of Buddhism. They should teach Buddhism based on active learning approach and the threefold principle that aimed to develop the mind and wisdom for learners. They used teaching techniques, media and content that consistent to the context of the learners. They had leadership in working with educational institutions and communities. The selection of moral teaching monks should focus on both academic and moral qualities as consisted of having the knowledge of Buddhism, having morality as a role model to build faith, and determining to propagate Buddhism. The important skills in the future of teaching moral monks in the new normal society were as: 1) the moral teaching monks should understand basic educational concepts, 2) the teaching moral monks should have curriculum development skill, 3) the teaching moral monks should have skills in using learning innovation in classroom, 4) the teaching moral monks should have learning activities management skill, 5) the teaching moral monks should have learning assessment skill, and 6) the teaching moral monks should have research skill to develop learning innovations.
