Movement Against Potash Mining and Stone Salt of the "Khon Rak Ban Kerd Bumnet Narong Chaiyaphum"

Abstract

This research article aims to study the factors contributing to the coalition movement and the method of movement against the potash and rock salt mines of "Khon Rak Ban Bamnet Narong Chaiyaphum." The study used a qualitative research method. The data was collected locally and used by 19 people involved in the movement against potash and rock salt mines, and the content was analyzed using a descriptive narrative. 


The findings revealed that the factors causing the group movement were people being concerned about the mine's operation; a lack of public participation in the communities surrounding the mine; and a lack of transparency in expressing opinions. As a result, people in the area came out to oppose the implementation of the project. The form and method of movements were found to include various types of fighting moves, including methods of fighting through normal political channels, such as filing a letter through the mechanisms of government agencies. Fighting through legal rights, methods of deterrence and pressure, such as demonstrations and demonstrations, combat methods are used to communicate with the public and networking methods, such as community campaigns, news efforts reflecting efforts to compete for media space and building a network through social media, return to various movement groups.
