Confirmatory Factor Analysis to Competency for Logic and Reasoning Skills of Early Childhood
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aims to analyze the confirmatory factors of logic competency and reasoning skills for early childhood. This research is a collection of quantitative data. The samples used in the study were early childhood teachers. The sample size consideration criterion was 20 times for one observed variable. There were 3 components of the study variables in this study, 15 of which were observed. Therefore, the actual sample size of 360 people was determined. The tools used to collect data are questionnaires which have the Index of Item Objective Congruence (IOC) 0.06 – 1.00 and questionnaire confidence using Cronbach's alpha coefficient method. The confidence level is 0.937, indicating that the tool is confident and a good level of accuracy.
The research result indicated that the logical and rational competence consists of three components: Logical reasoning abilities, Problem-solving and logical decision-making abilities, the ability to think logically. The analysis result of the confirmatory factor of the competency for logic and reasoning skills of the early childhood model consistent with the empirical data X2/df at GFI = 0.917, AGFI = 0.902, CFI = 1.00, RMSEA = 0.025. It shows that the developed model can be used to describe logical and rational performance, and consistent with empirical data.
