The Participation Model of Basic Education Commission for Effective Management of Academic Affairs

Abstract

The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to investigate current conditions and problem of participation; 2) to create the participation model; 3) to experiment the participation model; and 4) to present the outcomes of the participation model of basic education commission for effective management of academic affairs. A sample group consisted of school administrators, heads of academic department, teachers, and representatives of basic education commission, for a total of 297 persons, who were chosen by multi-stage sampling. The target group included 9 experts who took part in the basic education commission for effective management of academic affairs, who were chosen by purposive sampling. 21 experts and relevant persons, chosen by purposive sampling from 14 schools under the Ministry of Education, were also included in the target group. The tools used were a questionnaire, interview form, and assessment form. The statistics used were percentage, mean, and standard deviation. 


From the study, the following results are found: 1) The current conditions and problem of participation of basic education commission for effective management of academic affairs are overall at a high level and moderate level, respectively, 2) The participation model of basic education commission for effective management of academic affairs consists of 5 components which are (1) school curriculum administration; (2) teaching and learning management; (3) the development of media, innovation, and technology for education; (4) educational supervision; and (5) the development of learning resources, 3) By employing a mixed-methods research approach to test the participation model of basic education commission for effective management of academic affairs, it is discovered that the model is overall at a high level, and 4) The outcomes of the participation model are examined by experts and relevant persons in the basic education commission for effective academic affairs management, with the results proving to be of high propriety, feasibility, and utilization at a high level.
