A Model Development of Professional Learning Community Management Model of Supervision Monks to Strengthen the Moral Learning Organization

Abstract

The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to investigate the components of management of professional learning community for supervising monks; 2) to develop the management model of a professional learning community for supervising monks to strengthen strong moral learning organization; and 3) to evaluate the management model of the professional learning community for supervising monks to strengthen strong moral learning organization. The study employed an action research approach with the target group comprising 71 moral teaching monks in four regions. The research instruments included an in-depth interview form, a creative training workshop based on the AIC process, participation observation, and reflection.


From the study, the following results are found: 1) The management of professional learning community for supervising monks consists of two important components which are: the first component refers to the development of supervising monks, namely having a structure to support and promote continual potential development, having a quality selection process, and having support and encouragement; and the second component refers to the promotion of professional learning community of supervising monks through vision creation, the creation of a foundation for active Buddhist learning management, the establishment of a professional learning community, the creation of a friendly atmosphere and networking, the use of technology in the professional learning community, as well as the allocation of areas appropriate to the context of supervising monks. 2) The development of the management model of a professional learning community for supervising monks to strengthen strong moral learning organization includes the three-day creative training workshop that uses a hybrid approach, including both on-site and online platforms. The training workshop is based on the AIC process and a joint project between supervising monks and monks for supervision administration to develop moral teaching monks. 3) The results from applying the model reveal that it can develop the supervising monks with activities that can enhance the organization of supervising monks. The model is founded on the foundation that supervising monks can develop the supervising teaching plan, and recognize their roles and duties, as well as the values of professional learning community. The new body of knowledge gained is “PLC” model which consists of the systematic area-based management, the learning process for change and network building, and the communication process for empowering teamwork.
