Main Article Content
Abstract
The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to investigate problems and approaches to solving problems of farmers in large-scale agricultural land plots; and 2) to explore the competency of production processes influencing farmers' ability to profit in large-scale agricultural land plots. The study employed mixed-method research including qualitative and quantitative methods. A sample group included 24 members of the management committee and 373 farmers who were registered in large-scale agricultural land plots. The qualitative data were collected via interview form and analyzed by content analysis. While the quantitative data were collected by using questionnaire and were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis.
From the study, it is found as follows: 1) Problems and solutions include the following: Problems of production process and production costs, which can be managed through water management, a chemical-free campaign, and providing knowledge on how to reduce production costs; Problem of expertise in the production line, which can be addressed by having relevant agencies give knowledge and enhance farming skills correctly, as well as exchanging knowledge among members and scholars; Customers' lack of confidence in the products, which can be overcome by producing standard products to assure confidence in agricultural products; Product design and development problems, which can be solved by providing knowledge to farmers on how to design and build products; 2) Management ability, quality service, and product development are positively correlated with ability to make profits, with a statistical significance of 0.05 and 0.01, and forecasting efficiency of 63.50.
