Developing a Training Program to Enhance Creativity and Innovation for Rajabhat University Students

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to develop the training program to enhance creativity and innovation for Rajabhat University students; 2) to study the effects of the training program to enhance creativity and innovation for Rajabhat University students. The research was a research and development. Five experts validated the program’s suitability, and 30 Rajabhat University students participated in this program. The research instruments were the training programs and creativity and innovation evaluation form for Rajabhat University students. The data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and One-way MANOVA. The results were presented both in statistical and descriptive pattern.


The research results were as follows: 1) the training program to enhance creativity and innovation for Rajabhat University students consisted of 14 activities based on cognitive learning theory included Cognitive Constructivism, Constructionism, Self-directed Learning, Social Constructivism, Metacognition, Cooperative Learning, Problem Based Learning. They were thinking and brainstorming activities. The program was appropriate at the highest level. 2) After participating in the developed training program, Rajabhat University students have higher creative and innovative performance in 4 parts: Creativity Cognitive, Creativity Affective, Social Interaction, and Implementing Innovations than before participating with statistically significant difference at .01 level. According to the result, the program and the evaluation form were able to be used for student development and be applied approach in developing creative and innovative performance for undergraduate or other levels students.
