School Administration Toward Excellence Based on Iddhipāda for Administrators of Phrapariyattidhamma Schools on General Education Department in Khon Kaen Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research article were: 1) to study the school administration towards excellence for administrators; and 2) to study the guidelines for school administration towards excellence based on Iddhipāda for administrators of Phrapariyattidhamma schools on general education in Khon Kaen Province. The study was carried out by means of the mixed-methods research approach. The population and sample group included 152 administrators and teachers. The tools used for data collection were a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview form. The statistics used for data analysis were mean and standard deviation (S.D.)


            The research results are as follows: 1) The school administration towards excellence for administrators of Phrapariyattidhamma schools on general education in Khon Kaen Province is overall at a high level. The aspect that is practiced the most is ‘measurement and analysis’ and ‘knowledge management’, followed by ‘outcomes’ and ‘organizational leadership’, respectively.
2) The guidelines for school administration towards excellence based on Iddhipāda (the Four Paths of Accomplishment) for administrators of Phrapariyattidhamma schools on general education in Khon Kaen Province are as follows: administrators should be visionary leaders in formulating policies for administration and supporting involvement of personnel both inside and outside the school; personnel at all levels should be given equal importance; a systematic approach should be focused on facilitating the job performance of teachers and personnel inside schools by taking into account the needs of students or school stakeholders; the establishment of standards and assessment criteria in both teaching and learning, as well as personnel job performance, where the standards and measurement criteria must be clear and practical; students and parents should be encouraged to be satisfied with the educational administration of the school.
