Abstract

The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to study the casual factors influencing the participation, benefit recognition, and the cooperation of ceramic network in a sustainable tourism industry; 2) to solve problems and determine the cooperation of ceramic business with social and government sectors; and 3) to develop a model of tourism and the creative economy with a ceramic business network. The study used a mixed-methods research approach in which the quantitative data were collected from 400 persons divided into 2 groups: tourists and those engaged in the tourism industry. The qualitative data were collected from the following methods: in-depth interviews with community leaders, villagers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders from 3 tourist attractions; focus group discussion with 22 persons; workshop with 35 persons; and dialogue with 40 persons. Descriptive statistics, content analysis, and interpretation were used to analyze the acquired data.

From the study, it has been discovered that the important factors in building network for the development of tourism and creative economy include: 1) the community's readiness with resources on cultures, traditions, and way of life, as well as the promotion of local tourism, for which the community must have clear tourist management planning objectives; 2) leaders and teams in community networks must be innovative, friendly, and informed about tourism; and 3) knowledge, trust, and cooperation between the public and private sectors are required among networks. The absence of public relations is a problem seen in tourist attractions. In building a model, people's development must be emphasized, and they must be encouraged to be competent service providers. The promotion of creative learning tourism must integrate activities in a systematic manner by providing facilities as well as storytelling activity for creative learning and connecting with networks of important tourist attractions.
