The Building Awareness on Traffic Discipline According to Buddhist Peaceful Means: A Case Study of the Students of Langsuan Industrial and Community Education College, Chumphon Province

Abstract
This research article has objectives: 1) to study the context and problems of traffic discipline among students of Langsuan Industrial and Community Education College, Chumphon Province; 2) to study the enhancement of awareness raising according to Buddhist Peaceful Means; and 3) to present the enhancement of awareness raising according to Buddhist Peaceful Means for students of Langsuan Industrial and Community Education College, Chumphon Province to have traffic discipline. The study applied a developmental research method. The in-depth interviews were conducted with experts and scholars in a total of 24 persons. Students of 25 participants. The obtained data were presented by way of descriptive method. The following results are found: 1) The context and problems of traffic discipline are found that motorcycle accident statistics tend to increase due to negligence, due to negligence, a lack of mindfulness, a lack of respect for traffic regulations, unprepared vehicles, a lack of driving skills, impetuousness, a lack of severe law enforcement, and ignorance of the consequences. 2) The enhancement of awareness raising according to Buddhist Peaceful Means with mindfulness are the tool used to increase the mindfulness: paying attention to the laws and regulations, driving safely, behaving responsibly and carefully, being prudent and considering the consequences, self-control and weighing the benefits and disadvantages. 3) Presentation of the enhancement of awareness raising according to Buddhist Peaceful Means for students of Langsuan Industrial and Community Education College, Chumphon Province to have traffic discipline covers 4 aspects as follows: Physical development; Moral development; Mental development; and Wisdom development. The training guideline comprises 16 activities of the main learning strands. The training results reveal that the participants developed a good immunity, which shows all four areas referred to as "AFRA” comprising: “A” stands for “Awareness” which is the ability to analyze oneself, be aware of one’s thoughts, emotions, and feelings, “F” stands for “Fluency” which is proficiency and cleverness; “R” stands for “Reflection” which is to contemplate and reflect, to be reasoning and able to identify each issue; and “A” stands for “Awakening” which is to be awaken, to understand one’s roles and responsibilities.
