Guidelines for Organizational Development after the Pandemic of Coronavirus Disease 2019

Abstract

The spread of Coronavirus disease 2019 has greatly affected the development of the country and business organizations. This academic paper aims to propose guidelines for organizational development after the pandemic in 5 aspects including cost management, operational excellence management, vertical strategic alliance, innovation and diversity management. 1) Cost management: The organization can use budgeting and standard costing for Managerial control by preparing sales budget, production budget, direct raw material budget, direct labor cost budget, manufacturing overhead budget, and cash budget. The organization calculates standard costs to know cost of raw materials, direct labor and manufacturing overhead in advance for using in managing effective daily operations.
2) Operational excellence management: The organization focuses on building a cultural enabler, process continuous improvement, enterprise alignment, and results.3) Vertical strategic alliance: The partnership can be in terms of forward vertical alliance in order to gain relationships with customers or backward vertical alliance in order to increase bargaining power with suppliers, better control of raw material quality and reduce the production cost of the products. 4) Innovation: The organization can create a culture that supports internal innovation including creative mindsets of the leaders, recognition the employees, diverse team, and building trust and giving freedom to work.5) Diversity management: The organization has to manage, in addition, the diversity of thought and behavior of employees about feelings of loneliness, the 2019 coronavirus disease infection and anxiety about income, job security, performance appraisal and promotional system.
