Abstract

The purposes of this research were to 1) construct lesson plans based STEM education on the topic of change of substance to follow the criterion efficiency 80/80, 2) compare problem-solving abilities of students before and after using the constructed lesson plans, 3) compare learning achievement of students both before and after using the constructed lesson plans, and 4) study satisfaction of students toward the proposed lesson plans. The samples of this study consisted of 36 students in Prathomsuksa 5/1, Muang Sakon Nakhon School (That Narai Cheng Weng), Muang district, Sakon Nakhon province, during academic year 2020. They were randomly selected by using the cluster random sampling. The instruments included 1) five lesson plans based on STEM education, 2) problem-solving ability test, 3) learning achievement test, and 4) satisfaction questionnaire. The data were statistically analyzed by using mean, standard deviation, and t-test for dependent sample. The research findings were as follows: 1) the efficiency of the lesson plans based STEM education on the topic of change of substance was 80.00/80.71, which was satisfied the 80/80 threshold set, 2) the problem-solving ability of students after learning was higher than that of before using the constructed material at significant level of .01, 3) the learning achievement of students after learning was higher than that of before using the constructed materials at significant level of .01, and 4) satisfaction of students toward the proposed lesson plans was at the highest level.
