Nine Prosperity Temples: Traveling on Apocalypse, the Belief of the Merit Routes in Lampang Province

Abstract

This research aims that 1) to study the beliefs and the merits route in Lampang Province.  2) to study the belief, that is related to merit route in Lampang Province, and 3) to present a travel route based on the beliefs of merit route in Lampang Province. It is a mixed methodology and the tools are documentary study, questionnaires, in-depth interviews, focus group discussion, and operating action. The random sampling group of questionnaire consists of 400 people 52 key informants of in-depth interview. To present of travel routes on media is conducted by content analysis, descriptive statistics, and descriptive form.


The finding research showed 1) the tourism focuses on quality of life, mind, and cultivation of a good relation between their live and others. The tourists get information from internet and travel on holidays once a month with family by a private car, and the cost of traveling is 3,000-5,000 bahts. The factors of tourism are as follows: the sacred things, the proverbs, and convenient route. 2) The belief is related to the merit route is as follows: 1) teaching; 2) the beauties and access to the area of tourist places; and 3) the travelling routes based on Lanna belief and history. 3) It is the routes of Buddhist arts, near other tourist sites, and the area of creative art city. The body of knowledge from research indicates that 1) social capital reflected on the local identity to tourists; 2) local belief for praying for zodiac year; 3) cultural and traditional histories; 4) the beauties of fine arts reflected on aesthetics; and 5) religious belief reflected on good and bad deeds. These emphasize the tourist goals that are to creative happiness for travelling and developing creative community tourism sustainably.
