The Development of School Management Strategies toward World-Class Standard School

Abstract
The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to investigate the current conditions and expectation of school management toward world-class standard school; 2) to develop school management strategies toward world-class standard school; and 3) to assess school management strategies toward world-class standard school. A sample group included 608 world-class standard school administrators, head teachers of academic affairs, and teachers. The study employed quantitative and qualitative methods. The tools used for the study were structured interview form and a questionnaire with a validity of 0.99. The obtained data were analyzed by content analysis. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Priority Needs Index (PNI). The strategies were verified by content analysis based on connoisseurship technique.
From the study, the following results are found: 1) The current conditions are overall at a high level ( = 3.79). The aspect with the highest level of mean is knowledge evaluation, analysis, and management ( = 3.83), while operation has the lowest level of mean (
= 3.76). The expectation of school management toward world-class standard school is at the highest level (
= 3.62). When examining the priority needs index, it is found that personnel has the highest level (PNIModified=0.24), while the lowest level is knowledge evaluation, analysis, and management (PNIModified=0.19). 2) The development of school management strategies toward world-class standard school consists of six aspects which are (1) organizational leadership; (2) strategic planning; (3) focusing on students and stakeholders; (4) knowledge evaluation, analysis, and management; (5) personnel; and (6) operation. 3) From assessing school management strategies toward world-class standard school, they are found to be of congruence, propriety, feasibility, and utilization at the highest level (
= 3.71).
