Social Competence Pattern of Opportunity Expansion School Students

Abstract
The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to investigate the current conditions of activity arrangement to enhance social competence for students at opportunity expansion schools; 2) to enhance a social competence model for students at opportunity expansion schools; and 3) to evaluate a social competence model for students at opportunity expansion schools. The qualitative method was used in the study, which included data analysis from documents, focus group discussions, and observation. The obtained data were examined by triangulation method and presented using the descriptive analysis method.
From the study, the following results are found:
1) From investigating the current conditions of activity arrangement to enhance social competence for students at opportunity expansion schools, it is discovered that discipline and responsibility are lacking in students. They also spend more time on social media than on education. Their friends influence their behavior, such as imitating and bullying one another. Environmental factors, for example, students living in remote areas with limited access to school supplies, do not help them learn. There is also a scarcity of expert teachers.
2) A social competence model for students at opportunity expansion schools is made up of five parts: (1) the name of the competence; (2) the definition of competence; (3) the components of competence; (4) Activities to develop competence; and (5) Evaluation of activities to develop competence. A social competence model of students at opportunity expansion schools can be divided into three levels: (1) individual level; (2) interpersonal level; and (3) community/ society level.
3) The evaluation of a social competence model for students at opportunity expansion schools revealed that a model has feasibility at the highest level, with a mean of 4.65, and utilization at the highest level, with a mean of 4.65.
